Our photography guide is focused on digital photography of products for sale on the internet and it also addresses digital portrait photography. We approach product photography based on object size because the size and type of an object, to a great extent, determines the type of equipment, setup and techniques required for optimal results.

3. Digital Darkroom

With all digital photography, your computer is your darkroom. After you shoot your images, you copy them onto your computer and then adjust them to make them suitable for your objective. Often this requires cropping, brightness/contrast adjustments, and possibly slight color adjustments. You can add special effects such as frames and shadowing to give them a unique and dimensional presentation. We'll show you how to accomplish these common tasks using some of the most popular image editing software.
