FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY

Flash photography can render stunning pictures, but requires skill and experience.

We recommend flash photography for portraits and large objects. We believe that continuous light is best for small product imaging, as less light is required and continuous lights are easier to use and control.

For optimal results with flash photography, we recommend having two or more flashlights to reduce shadows and improve image detail. One of the lights is set up as the primary "key" light source and the other(s) as the "fill" or "back" light. Many professional photographers use three or more of our lights for the ultimate light control. Two are placed in front of the object and the third and or forth is used to "backlight" the object and completely remove shadows from the background.

We recommend and sell Photogenic and Smith Victor flash photography lighting equipment for portraits and large object imaging. Our flash kits range in price from under $200 to over $2000 and include umbrellas, softboxes, light stands, barndoors and cases.

Portrait Flash Photography Kits

Our Portrait Studio Flash Kits are compact, lightweight, very portable. They have sufficient light for shooting children, pets, families and groups. We sell 100, 200 and 300 watt/sec mono-lights that are all master/slave flash lights with selectable power and include 60 or 100 watt quartz modeling lights. We sell umbrella and softbox kits in a variety of combinations for all levels of photographers.

Use of a flash light meter is strongly recommended with flash photography.

Large objects are most effectively photographed with our flashlight kits or our ALZO 2000 Super bright light kits. Our flash photography kits can easily handle objects like cars and boats with ease. Although these lights can be used for home portrait and for professional portrait imaging, we recommend our portrait studio kits as above.

These lights are "master/slave" flashlights and will trigger when the camera strobe fires or by direct connection to a camera PC connector. These lights can complement a digital camera's built in strobe for large product imaging. Each light is supplied with an 8' "sync" cord for connection to the camera. For "syncing" cameras that have a "hot shoe" but lack a PC connector, we supply a Wireless Flash Trigger or a Hot Shoe to PC adaptor. These lights are sold in kits of 1, 2 or 3 lights.

Our flash photography lights are supplied with a 15 foot AC power cord and are powered by 115VAC 60HZ US standard power. In addition, they have a very fast recycle time of 4 seconds.

Lighting Equipment For Small to Medium Objects

ALZO 300 product photography lighting kit

For small objects like computers and home electronics, we recommend our ALZO Digital continuous lighting kits. Continuous lighting is an ideal light source for digital cameras that provide "white balance" to correct for the color temperature of the incandescent lamps. They are also economical to own and operate, they conserve energy and are environmentally friendly.

For small objects like jewelry and components, the ALZO Table Top studios offer a ideal shooting setup for light objects.
